On the outskirts of a snowy forest…

A tragedy of nature had taken place. Brought down by a combination of old age and the chill of winter, a camarasaurid sauropod lay dead upon the snow-covered ground. The recently fallen carrion beginning to decompose, scavengers of various sizes came to feed. Troodontids, pterosaurs of varying species, and even a Yutyrannus all started digging into the corpse and ripping out strips of cold meat.

However, the scavengers would momentarily cease their feeding as a newcomer made his presence known. Treading softly across the snow, Kiryu approached the sauropod carcass, the theropods and pterosaurs giving the chimera space as he bit into the underbelly of the fallen giant. His strong jaws and teeth cutting right through the thick hide, Kiryu tore away a large chunk of flesh, tilting his head back and letting the meat slide down his gullet. As the chimera fed, the other scavengers proceeded to start picking off pieces of meat themselves, keeping their distance from Kiryu.

Unbeknownst to the animals, however, another carnivore was making his way towards the available food source. His sense of smell enraptured by the odor of decaying flesh and his gastric juices flowing, Raptros soared through the cloudy skies. The dragon was starving, and the carcass he smelled would be more than satisfying for him.

Reaching the forest’s outskirts and spotting the dead sauropod down below, Raptros took notice of the scavengers already feeding and decided to get rid of them. Being too hungry to feel like sharing, the dragon opened fire with a series of fireballs. The bullet-like projectiles slammed into the ground near the dead sauropod, sending snow and dirt flying upwards as small flaming craters were left in their wake. Panicking as the fireballs made their impact, the troodontids fled the scene, the pterosaurs took to the air, and the Yutyrannus retreated into the forest.

Only Kiryu remained, the chimera instinctively going intangible as the fireballs exploded around him. Looking upwards, Kiryu watched as Raptros circled overhead, the dragon letting out a roar demanding him to leave. Unimpressed, the blue chimera reared up on his hind legs, letting out his own roar in defiance.

Seeing this, Raptros landed down several feet in front of Kiryu. Spreading his wings in a threat display, Raptros once more let out a roar to try to intimidate Kiryu, but to no avail. The chimera bore his teeth in a silent growl as he stood his ground. It was clear that Kiryu wasn’t going to be backing down, meaning combat was the only solution. Raptros was fine with this; and besides, if he killed this chimera, he’d have an even bigger feast at his hands.

HERE WE GO!

Parting his jaws, Raptros discharged a series of fireballs, only for Kiryu to go intangible and let the projectiles faze right through him. Quick to retaliate, Kiryu let loose with Showa Mechagodzilla’s eye beams, the rainbow-colored energies tearing into Raptros’ shoulder and detonating. The dragon shrieked as his flesh was torn open and burned by the attack, leaving behind a patch of cooked hide that stung profusely. Angered by this, Raptros sprinted towards his blue and green foe, eager to rip his jugular open.

Standing his ground, Kiryu reared up on his hind legs just as Raptros closed the distance. Immediately, the dragon began swinging with his claws and wings, battering at his blue and green opponent. Kiryu’s only response was to swipe with his forelimbs, striking Raptros across the face and chest several times. His claws cut deeply into the dragon’s scales, leaving behind bloody trenches that emptied out crimson life essence. Lifting up his left leg, Raptros kicked Kiryu in the stomach, forcing the chimera to step backwards and halt his assault.

Flipping backwards, Raptros kicked Kiryu square in the jaw with both feet, knocking the chimera flat on his back. Seizing the opportunity, Raptros pounced on his fallen foe, biting into his underbelly. His teeth sank past his opponent’s fur and scales into the blue flesh beneath, spilling glowing azul blood from the fresh wound. Kicking with his legs, Kiryu struck Raptros in the stomach, knocking the dragon back and giving him some space. Rolling onto his feet, Kiryu started sprinting around his draconic enemy on all fours, keeping out of melee reach. Before Raptros could try hitting him with a fire attack, the chimera suddenly disappeared in a flash.

Taken off-guard by this, Raptros glanced around the surrounding land to find any sign of his enemy, only to see nothing but snow, trees, and the carcass. Speaking of which, it was still left free for the dragon to take for himself. Deciding that he had driven his foe away, Raptros turned and bit into the sauropod’s side, ripping away a large strip of flesh.

A mistake.

Having waited for the opportunity to strike, Kiryu materialized behind Raptros while the dragon was feeding. Charging at full speed, the chimera lowered his head as he reached his rival. Hearing the incoming footsteps, Raptros only had enough time to look behind himself to see his foe charging right for him. Immediately afterwards, Kiryu slammed his horns into Raptros’ back, carrying him forward as he leaped over the sauropod carrion.

Not stopping as Raptros remained trapped on his horns, Kiryu charged right into a tree, smashing the dragon between his ram-like horns and the wood. The sheer force of the impact broke the tree in half, toppling the plant over as Raptros collapsed to the ground. Raising himself upwards, the kaiju coughed up blood as his ribcage was crushed to dangerous limits. Not finished with his assault, Kiryu reached down and bit down on Raptros’ back. His teeth punctured the dragon’s red scales and drew out trickles of blood, before the chimera lifted up Raptros and spun around, tossing him away.

Managing to push himself back on his feet, Raptros looked towards Kiryu just in time to see the chimera charging for him again. Acting quickly, the dragon retaliated by letting loose with a stream of fire, the flames striking Kiryu head-on. However, the chimera once more went intangible, letting the flames pass on through as he continued to charge. Seeing this, Raptros spread his wings and took to the air, Kiryu flying after him.

Circling his chimeric opponent, Raptros shot off several fireballs his direction. Kiryu’s only response, however, was to go intangible, letting the projectiles once again pass straight through him. The chimera was quick to retaliate, as he discharged a Shadow Ball from his maw. The orb of darkness collided with Raptros’ left flank, exploding and searing the reptile’s scales. Knocked off-balance, Raptros wasn’t able to defend himself as Kiryu pressed his assault by firing Spacegodzilla’s Corona Beam. The twisting orange beam flew around Raptros before piercing his left wing in an explosion of energy. Shrieking as a large hole was blown into his wing, Raptros plummeted from the sky, landing down hard back first upon the snowy ground.

His back aching badly from the fall, Raptros was only able to roll onto his stomach as Kiryu landed before him and approached. In desperation, Raptros lifted up his head and attempted to shoot a stream of fire, only for Kiryu to smack him across the face with Dragon Claw, the glowing blue claws cutting through the skin on the left side of his face and leaving numerous bloody gashes. Dazed by the blow, Raptros was helpless as Kiryu was ready to finish this battle.

Not one for slow deaths, Kiryu simply clamped his jaws around Raptros’ neck and bit down hard, snapping the dragon’s neck vertebrae.

As the dragon promptly died, Kiryu dragged his body over to the sauropod carcass, laying down on his abdomen as he began tearing off pieces of flesh from the still warm dragon’s corpse. In addition to getting rid of unwanted competition, the chimera had himself an even bigger meal that would keep him satisfied for days.
